1. Plan them early!
Start advertising well in advance! Give yourself time to get the word out. If you start talking about them 6-8 weeks out, you can get more notice out and help families to plan more in advance.
2. Plan your mini sessions in an easy to find location.
Utah has some particularly popular locations that get overwhelmingly busy spring and fall for family pictures! Be sure to choose a location that has a close parking lot, and cell service just in case they get a little turned around. Its easy to get lost up in the mountains and you don't want them to miss their time slot because they get lost! My *favorite* tip for this is to have balloons to help your clients find you too! This takes off the worry for them wandering around, and all they have to do is look for a specific color of balloons!
3. Have fun and bring a friend!
Family pictures are always super stressful, and with mini's you may feel overwhelmed trying to stay on your timeline the entire afternoon. If you have an assistant with you, they can help with that! Have them give you time updates, and welcome next family while you're finishing up with the other client. They don't have to be a photographer, just a friendly face!
Best of luck with your next set of mini sessions!! Its such an amazing way to give multiple families a chance to preview your work, and build up your clientele! --- Halie
