The hospital door opened slowly, her precious black curls came into view. She hesitantly made her way across the room, taking her moms hand as she whispered hello. With a little help, she climbed up on the couch to lean over and see her for the first time. She had been waiting for this moment for nine months. Her baby sister is finally here. She was smiling from ear to ear as she stood there staring into her in the bassinet. It was a perfect first meeting, and I can only imagine the first day of their relationship as future best friends.
Meet the beautiful Selma, my new niece. Isn't she perfect?! I was lucky enough to visit them in the hospital, and newborns in their home the next afternoon. There is nothing better than seeing their family so happy and perfectly imperfect. And having her as part of my family is just the cherry on top!
